Are you looking for new summer thrills on the mountain? Big Bear Lake recently introduced the New Zealand style jet boat ride, an attraction that twists and spins passengers for a 30-minute thrill ride. Similar to the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland, but more exciting, a local watersports provided on the Lake discovered the attraction last year in New Zealand which is recognized as the extreme sports capital. The 12-passenger jet boat has an all aluminum body with a modified āvā bottom and Hamilton Jet Drive Unit, for easy maneuverability and tricks. A 375 horsepower 8.1 liter fuel injected Kodiak big block marine engine powers this water wonder.
Wally Weber, owner and operator of Big Bear Parasail and Watersports, caught sight of a jet boat at Lake Wakitipu twisting, turning and nose dipping without capsizing, and he knew right away it would be a big hit at Big Bear Lake.
Throughout the 30 minute tour passengers experience a wild and adventurous ride along with narrative of the Lake’s attractions such as Garstin Island and the Solar Observatory. At the end of the tour a grand finale finish includes a Hamilton, 180 degree spin for a ride you won’t forget. (Most people want to do it again, in fact.) The cost is $29 for adults and $19 for kids 12 and under. For more information call 909-866-4359 or visit www.bigbearparasail.net.
