Whale Watching in Rancho Palos Verdes

Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. –Who says that whale watching season ends in March? Some would have you believe that the whales simply don’t migrate during the summer months in California but we’re here to tell you that’s not true. Look for the blue at Point Vicente Interpretive Center, shown in the photo. This beautiful facility overlooking the Los Angeles bay is the perfect spot to see the gray whale in the winter months, and blue during the summer through October.

Take a drive along scenic coastal roads between Redondo Beach and Long Beach to discover some of the fiest vistas for watching whale migrations. The Point Vicente center offers more than just a vista for whale watching and is well worth the stop. Next to Point Vicente Lighthouse you’ll often find the doors open at a facility that offers a glimpse into the history of the region with a movie you can watch, plus study ancient artifacts, and look at newer gems and collectibles from the themed attraction that no longer exists–Marineland.

Whales are nature’s coolest creatures. I have taken about 10 whale watching boat trips in California and other places. I never get tired of looking for them and when you get to see one up close and personal, it is truly magic. I highly recommend the experience to anyone who wants adventure.
